Effect of School Bullying on Children


          School life is a very enjoyable piece of the entire life. You are free from all your worries except the difficulties of your studies. Well they can be overtaken by the joy that is obtained during school life. You make new and faithful friends, play with them, enjoy your studies, have your first crush etc. Children enjoy their school lives in their own way. Some enjoy by hanging out with their friends, some by bunking classes, some by studying hard. But there are these special kinds of children who enjoy their lives by bullying other children. This bullying sometimes crosses the limits.

          Bullying is one of the greatly increasing diseases particularly in schools. It is one of the worst thing happened in the school life.  A famous American actress Jessica Alba once said, “I feel so bad for any kid who is getting bullied. I’ve been there. I know how much it hurts and I know how it affects you”. School should be a safe place to learn, to get education, to play and it is the responsibility of administration to ensure that safety. Bullying is done out of hatred and it is not stopped until the affected person does something about it. So don’t confuse it with ragging.

          The most common form of bullying is physical bullying which involves punching, kicking, hitting, slapping and other physical attacks. The other type is verbal which affects mentally. Children who are affected by bullies are most likely to be the prey of the loss of self confidence. Some children stop going to schools while others have to keep bodyguards with them. Even some children commit suicide when the bullying takes the form of sexual harassment or something like that. Some children become mentally disturbed, some become patients of psychic problem, some are even afraid of themselves and other humans. These types of effects, at a very early age, are extremely dangerous. Those children who survive bullying are those special humans who got another chance to live their life normally. But those who get extremely affected by bullying become dead from inside. Apparently they look alive but from inside they are dead.


          Bullying is a crime which should be stopped. School teachers and administration should take the step to make their school free from bullying. Severe steps should be taken against those who are involved in bullying so that they cannot destroy the lives of the future. If the steps are not taken immediately, bullying will keep increasing and more and more students will be greatly affected by it.
